UNDP Bangkok Regional Hub is looking for a Communication and Private Sectors Analyst to support
two projects below;

The Bureau of External Relations and Advocacy (BERA)
The Bureau of External Relations and Advocacy (BERA) leads and supports the organization in cultivating, building and nurturing strategic relationships and alliances that are essential for advancing and successfully achieving the mission of UNDP. Within BERA, the Communications Group leads and
manages external communications through strategy, media, digital communications, marketing, branding and global storytelling.

The communication and private sector analyst is responsible for working with COs and the regional communications advisor to help promote, market and position UNDP in their region, while at the same time supporting the generation of content which can be used globally, through success stories and
expert placements in media. The communications and private sectors analyst reports primarily to regional Communications Specialist in the Bureau for External Relations and Advocacy (BERA).

Private sector partnership unit

UNDP’s partnership with private sector; philanthropies and foundation; and high network individuals are aimed at increasing the flow of private capital, influencing business practices to sustainable strategies and operations and invest in programme for resilient recovery and building back better. These partnerships provide financial and technical support to accelerate the work on the ground level wit national and subgovernments, civil society and partnership.

With increase in UNDP’s engagement with the private sector and foundations and due to the shrinking donor landscape, there is an urgent need to expand UNDP’s engagement with business and maximize the impact of every collaboration. It is important that the partnerships are capitalized in the highest impact and return-on-investment partnerships. This will require we maximize our design capacities, develop investable project portfolios and proactively attract new partnerships. The communication and private sector analyst is responsible to work on strengthen new regional and multi country private sector, corporate philanthropies and foundation partnerships. Additionally, He/she is a vital link between communications and the private sector partnership team.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Communication and Private Sector Partnerships Analyst will work under supervision of the Regional Communication Specialist and the Private Sector Partnership Specialist and in close coordination with the regional partnership and communication teams.

The duties include:
Establish new partnerships with the business sector and philanthropies and in management of existing regional partners.
Facilitate outreach with the private sector partners and preparation of intelligence, resource packs, presentations for strategic partnerships.
Support in preparation of private sector engagement strategies, resource mobilization plans, and address knowledge gaps.
Supports the development of communication products aimed at strengthening partnerships
Prepare private sector and communication in preparing briefs, pitches, proposals and presentations
Supports the implementation of new communication initiatives.
Maintains and monitors workplan for Private Sector and Communication with a focus on reviewing documents, updates, and reports and follow-up actions
Develops knowledge sharing on new partnerships, communication campaigns with country offices.
Undertake the assessment and mapping of key regional private sector companies that align with UNDP Private Sector priorities and have a strong interest to support the SDGs,
Undertakes the collection and reporting of Partnership and Communication KPIs.
Assists in advocacy and outreach and communications work; supports the creation of multimedia content

Required Skills and Experience

Education:
Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Development or Communications or related fields.
Experience:
2 years (with Master’s degree) or 4 years (with Bachelor’s degree) of relevant professional experience
Professional regional experience with a UN agency, NGO, or other multilateral organization in mobilizing partnerships aimed at achieving a sustainable development agenda
Experience with report writing, preparing presentations, and proposals
Proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Word, analytical and communications applications to create slides and infographics
Professional experience in engaging in partnerships with the private sector, government, donors and media outlets
Professional experience in engaging in partnerships with the private sector, foundations, donors and media outlets
Excellent analytical skills
Detail-oriented with the ability to work under pressure on new and unfamiliar tasks
Ability to perform task independently, work as a team player and meet deadlines
Language Requirement:

Fluency in English is essential, both written and oral.
Travel

UNDP will cover the cost of travel of the individual to the duty station, as well as their return to their home upon completion of their services. Travel costs are covered only in the event that the function will be undertaken physically in the duty station and excludes working from home arrangements.
UNDP will cover economy costs towards an official travel expected to be associated with performing the functions including during the regional and annual forums and necessary missions to support country-office level implementation.
